Storytelling a Circle of the Earth run by Brother Wolf
A one day storytelling and nature-based community workshop on Friday, July 18th at Free Spirit Nature Camp.
Regular camp will be closed on that day. Children who are comfortable in a mixed group setting and are between the ages of 7 to 14 are welcome to attend with or without their parents. Parents are welcome to attend with their children.
Participants will…
-listen to a lot of stories and build a solid ability to deeply listen and respect a speaker.
-have the chance to develop one story by telling in smaller groups and then larger and larger circles.
-gain valuable insight into how to tell a story.
-build a life long gift for giving meaningful and useful feedback in an artistic setting.
-have fun.
This workshop is open to children and adults who have been involved in some way with the Free Spirit Nature camp in the past ten years. Participants should bring a story suitable for children that they have already practiced telling once by themselves. Contact us if you need suggestions. Class will be limited to 12 children plus those who choose to attend with parents.
Workshop begins at 9am and ends at 3pm. Please bring lunch. Snacks will be provided.
There will be a public performance right after the day ends, which is open to everyone.
Child attending alone $45 registering before July 16th or $60 after.
Parents and one child is $60 registering before July 16th or $75 after.
